Cable Mountain- Zion Park

This beautiful site in located on top of Cable Mountain, right next to the Great White Throne. I went there 38 years ago and have been dreaming of a return for a long time. Last Friday, Faith and I made a 3.5mile trip in and then back out from the East park boundry. The edge right behind us, drops off to the canyon floor 1800 feet below. Across the canyon is Angel's Landing that is 800 feet below us. Right below us is the parking lot for Weeping Rock. It is a site to behold. The best part of making the trip is being able to have the pictures to prove that we really made it.

Sorry for not being more currant with events in our lives, but we had to show you our visitor. We knew we lived in the fields, but who would of believed we lived in the real rural part of the world. This friend was eating our pecans with a friend squirrel. The were playing over the hedge, we never really saw the movie, but they had a thing going. This guy took a trip with the animal control officer. He is huge and was angry. He probably won't be back for dessert.

Saturday night of Labor Day Weekend. We went to Maria's in Beaver to celebrate 3 birthdays. Here is Evan with all three of the birthday girls. Actually their birthday wasn't until Tuesday, but we needed an excuse to go out all together for dinner to celebrate. From left to right is, Chantel, Evan ( not my birthday, just the birthday girl holder) Brooklin, and Madison. Faith got us all birthday hats that Madison is wearing.

The Adventurers

We did have a good time on Labor Day. This was taken at
a lunch break just off the trail. We had 16 of us and 5 vehicles. One of the grand kids pushed Evan's kill switch on the 4-wheeler on the left. It would not start till Jake noticed the switch pushed. It is amazing how much better they work when the engine runs.
The coke float break in Marysville was a good one. I can just imagine Dee loving every moment of the ride. He would of loved to be able to ride the mountains so easily.

Wrigley Field

Well, this is a true, actual picture taken Thursday night, July 24th, in Chicago, at Wrigley Field. We had a great time and the Cubs did win. They were playing the Florida Marlins. This is a dream come true.

Faith was there when Skylar made her arrival. It brought back lots of memories for her. We were just thinking and we will celebrate our 35th anniversary this year. Faith is such a cute grandmother, with love for all and even more.
Here is the newest little Stapley. This is Skylar, born just yesterday 6/14 at 1444. Figure that out. We will let Jana and Brad show all the close cute pictures, but we are so glad Skylar is here. So is Jana and Brad, it was a long day for them all.

We have a new family that has moved in on the back patio. This is Mummy Hummy. That is right, she has made her nest on the top of the light bulb. We are going to wait for a little while then turn on the light and have boiled egg. She really doesn' like us going out back, but she will have to get used to us.

We decided to get a delivery car and advertize on it as it travels all over town. We make deliveries to assisted living homes and some extended care facilities too. This way, they can see us coming. We all take turn driving this little Ford Focus.
This is a hard way to let you know, but Evan had eye surgery on Monday, June 2nd at the Moran Eye Center in SLC. This was taken on Wednesday at the pharmacy. It involved two major surgeries to get the job done. The problem was very high pressure or tramatic glaucoma.

Over conference weekend, we all got together and here we are at a new city park with all the grandkids. Even little Gracie was here, she is in the infant seat. They are all growing up and we had a great time with everyone. The household starts getting crowded when everyone is home, but we love it.

Brinly and Evan had fun knocking the ice off the back of the cabin on our third trip up this year. We traveled further up to Kents Lake for a picnic and to let Brad and Owen literally fly across the ice at over 70 miles an hour. The rest of us enjoyed the show and also enjoyed lunch.

Look how the snow as melted in two weeks. Aaron was trying to pull ice off the roof. We are going to trying again this weekend, can you believe Easter in the snow. What happened to the sand and rolling the eggs? We want to get inside to have lunch. How about a little remodel? Let's think about it. Love to all.

The Island at Willow Lake

We finally made it to Willow Lake. Here is Brad and Aaron on the Island. They had to roll out to the island just like on Man vs. Wild. They did get a foot wet at the edge on the way back. It really was fun.

You might remember the looks of Willow Lake last fall. You might remember how the cat tails were mostly gone and the island was a little higher, well in the middle of this white lake is a mound and this is the island in the middle of Willow Lake. The clouds are blocking the view to the west, but they sure brought in the storm Friday night. The only way in on Saturday was by snow shoe. My legs are felling the effort.

Winter Wonderland

Saturday Feb. 23rd. Brad, Aaron and Evan tried to make it to the cabin. Too much powdery snow for the snow mobiles. Evan took his four wheeler and put tracks on it and boy did he get stuck. We has some mechanical problems that cost us 24 hours of time to get it out. In the mean time, Evan walked in on snow shoes to the cabin and then over to Willow Lake. Yes, it is frozen over, anyway part is still open where water is still moving. Quite a prett sight. I'll add to this nightly for a while to give you something to look forward too. Pretty sight, don't you think?

Utes Forever

On Saturday, Feb. 16th, We got to go to a basketball game at the "U". The gang at the store got together and gave us tickets and sweatshirts to the game and dinner afterwards. It ended up being one the premier games of the year. They were celebrating 100 years of Basketball at the U and all basketball players that had ever played were invited to return. Then they selected an all century team. We really had a wonderful time and enjoyed every minute and even enjoyed watching Utah beat San Diego State. We will always have the Red Blood of Utah in our veins.

Saturday night, we all took to the lanes and went bowling. The high score of the evening was Abby. We kept waiting for the bumper pads to come up for us, but we had no such luck. Here are Jake, Evan, Faith, Chantel, Jared and Abby and Logan. Shannon took the picture, baby Gracie is looking like Shannon swallowed a bowling ball. 9 more days for Shannon and Gracie.
This is the yurt. A kind of Norweigen tent. This is listed somewhere, as one of the top 10 romantic dinner experiences in the country. It was really quite fun. All the food comes up from Park City by way of snow mobile. They even have a baby grand piano playing all night, live.

This is our team of horses. It made the trip really easy. It was 25 minutes up the hill and 25 more on the return trip. On the way down, we did see a moose and calf off the side of the trail, but the entire evening took over three hours.

By the way, did we mention that there is no running water or electricity. We were warned that it would be warmer to use the facilities at the lodge before we left. You can see why.
This is the sleigh that we all jumped in. It had two of seats facing each other. We did have blankets to keep the cold wind out. But the faces were cold.

February 8th, We were invited to go to a Yurt on top of the mountain by the Canyons in Park City for dinner. We are in a sleigh that held 32 people and was really open air. We had seat belts and tried to stay warm but had 25 minute ride to the top of the mountain for a 6 course dinner

Christmas Eve we had a surprise visitor. Santa! As you can see, some of the girls were not too happy, they were wanting to head the other direction. Santa brought each one a gift. They were so surprised and so scared! Brinly and Brooklin were the bravest of them all. They hugged Santa, and Madison gave knuckles and Taylee screamed.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
We had some of the kids and grandkids home for Christmas Eve, and you know us, we love to have new pajamas to sleep in for Christmas. Here is Taylee, Brinly, Brooklin, and Madison.
